The United States advises residents not to travel to France

The instruction is clear: “Avoid France.” The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) just released a message warning Americans not to travel to France.

According to the CDC, the US health agency, Covid-19 has begun to spread strongly in France. Therefore, France was placed at “risk level 4”, that is, the maximum risk level. Until now, it was at level 3 (risky).

“If you have to travel to France, make sure you are fully vaccinated before you travel,” the CDC warned. But beware: even vaccinated, it is preferable, according to them, to avoid France. “Due to the current situation in France, even fully vaccinated travelers can be at risk of contracting and spreading Covid-19 variants.”

Thailand, Israel and Iceland have also been elevated to level 4 by the CDC.

22,937 new Covid cases were identified in France on August 7. A figure higher than two weeks ago, when 17,678 cases were registered on July 24.
