The TOP coach Newcastle has their sights set on for next season

El entrenador TOP que tiene en la mira el Newcastle para la próxima temporada

According to sources close to the club, Newcastle United are seriously considering Ruben Amorim as a possible replacement for Eddie Howe at the helm next season. Amorim, current Sporting Lisbon coach, has attracted the attention of several elite European clubs thanks to his success in Portugal.

Just 39 years old, Amorim has achieved remarkable success at Sporting since his appointment in 2020, winning the Primeira Liga, Portuguese Cup and Portuguese Super Cup in the space of four years. His engaging playing style and ability to transform team performance have put him on the radar of big-name clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool.

While Liverpool are known to have Xabi Alonso as one of the main candidates to replace Jurgen Klopp, Newcastle have now joined Amorim’s list of suitors. The club from the north-east of England are facing a difficult season under manager Eddie Howe and the board are considering their options for a change in the dugout at the end of the season.

Although Howe was initially expected to be the architect of a Newcastle revival, disappointing results and concerns about his ability to take the team to new heights led to a review of the situation. Newcastle, who qualified for the Champions League last season, are currently in ninth place in the table and are therefore far from their expectations.

Injuries and suspensions to key players have affected the team’s progress this season, but the board recognizes the need for change if Newcastle are to return to the top of English and European football. With Amorim a serious option and looking to try his luck in the Premier League, his name is on the shortlist for a possible interview at Newcastle United if the opportunity arises.
