Club Atlético Licey continued to develop its annual social responsibility program, “Licey con la Comunidad”, with the activity “Back to school with El Tiguerito”, in an emotional act held at the facilities of Colegio Apec Fernando Arturo de Meriño.
Dozens of children were present and participated in different activities together with “El Tiguerito”, the official mascot of the Tigres del Licey, with whom they participated in dance and song competitions, among other amenities.
As part of its social program, the Licey seeks to promote education, sports and cultivate values for the development of children in our nation. A team that not only puts its heart into the field; also outside of it to support those who need it most.
“This type of activity is part of comprehensive education, it is something that excites children, especially with the most popular team in our country. Due to culture and follow-up, the university, which is our Alma Mater (UNAPEC), also relies heavily on sports, highlighted María Eelena O´Rourke Acosta, Director of CAFAM School”.
It was a morning full of emotions and joy in which the blue team delighted the children with popcorn and cotton candy machines. They also shared ChocoWow cookies thanks to CMI Alimentos and Frutop juices.
ChikiHalka products, from the Halka Industrial Company, for children’s hair care were also delivered.
Mrs. Matilde Dargam, vice president of the Women’s Branch, led the act accompanied by Lic. Cynthia Morillo, director of Public Relations and Jessica Ortega, primary coordinator of the aforementioned student center.
The glorious blue ensemble develops in the same way throughout the year, other activities in favor of the community through its different programs: “Study is First”, “Read and Learn”, “El Tour de El Tiguerito”, “Licey Blue Planet”, among others, and visits and donations are made to reception centers for underprivileged minors, hospitals, nursing homes and others, in which the Ladies of the Women’s Branch, players and the mascot “El Tiguerito” participate.
