The three English clubs are fighting over the signing of Samuel Iling-Junior

Young Juventus winger Samuel Iling-Junior has attracted interest from three Premier League clubs: Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion. The London-born Englishman, with a background in the Chelsea youth team, joined Juventus in 2020 and made his first-team debut in October 2022.

Despite his promising previous season, Iling-Junior struggled to achieve consistent playing time in the current season. Having played just 129 minutes in six substitute appearances, there was speculation about his departure in the January transfer window.

Tottenham is leading the race

Tottenham appear to be leading the race to sign Iling-Junior, with recent reports linking him with the Ange Postecoglou-managed club. However, Aston Villa and Brighton have also shown interest in the England U21 international.

Juventus are reportedly willing to listen to offers in the region of €18m (£15.6m) amid uncertainty over the player’s future. Although all three Premier League clubs have made initial contacts, there are still no formal offers.

Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou is looking to strengthen his squad in January and is considering Iling-Junior as an option, along with other players such as Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon who are currently out through injury. Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery is looking to strengthen his attack to compete in the Premier League and Europa Conference League. Brighton, who qualified for the last 16 of the Europa League, are also looking to strengthen their forward line due to injuries to the squad.

Iling-Junior’s future appears to lie in the Premier League and competition between Tottenham, Aston Villa and Brighton promises to make the January transfer window more exciting.
