The teacher turned out to be a professional beggar, the court ruled harshly

KUWAIT CITY: A court has sentenced a woman to life in prison for defaming a sacred profession like a teacher.

In Kuwait, an intelligence team has arrested a woman from an Arab country for begging.

Ajil News quoted Kuwaiti media as saying that the Kuwaiti secret service had received information that a woman had been spotted in a well-known area wearing a suspicious type of burqa and engaged in begging.

The intelligence teams of the department continued to keep a close watch on the woman after receiving the information. When it was ascertained that the woman used to come to a certain place daily to beg, they arrested her as a professional and handed her over to the anti-begging department.

Anti-begging officials were shocked when the investigation revealed that the professional beggar woman was not an ordinary woman but a chemistry teacher at a local school who had been associated with the school for the past 18 years and until her arrest. She was also employed.
