The Taliban have laid siege to Panjshir, the situation is tense

Following the expulsion of foreigners from Afghanistan, the Taliban have now turned their attention to the country’s only unconquered area, Panjshir, and its fighters have reached large numbers of areas that have so far remained unconquered.

A large and fresh convoy of Taliban fighters is heading towards Panj Sher and they have cordoned off the Salang Highway and laid siege to the valley and are awaiting orders from their top leadership at the entry point of the area. Has captured 33 provinces of the country, including Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, but the 34th in the country Province Panj Sher now Is invincible toÛ”Panj Sher is located along the Hindu Kush mountain range and is located at an average altitude of 2200 meters above sea level while some of its places are also at an altitude of 6000 meters above sea level. Couldn’t capture. The Panjshir Valley strengthens its location defensively and is accessible only by a narrow route along the Panjshir River. The area is a fortress, which has always been a difficult front for foreign invaders. When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, Soviet forces were unable to occupy it. Tensions remained high after the Soviet withdrawal, first with the Afghan government and later with the Taliban movement. It began in the Pashtun-majority areas of Afghanistan in 1994, but the Taliban did not gain control of Panj Sher during their first term. The area has been an ally of the Taliban since the US took over. Now that the Taliban have regained control of Afghanistan, Panjshir is still the only province outside the country under their control. The area is now a stronghold of anti-Taliban forces and is now led by Ahmad Shah Massoud and former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh Bachi Kachhi, the Afghan army and local militia.

Panjshir is Afghanistan’s second largest nationality, a historic home for Tajiks with a population of about 200,000, and the people here do not want to give their historic home to anyone else. Moreover, since the majority of the Taliban are Pashtuns, the people here prefer to fight the Taliban instead of acknowledging their dominance. In terms of defense, the geography of the area has always been helpful to the people here. Tajiks do not consider Kabul, their defensive line, as their capital. The geographical line of this area consists of Panj Sher Valley, Dara Salang, Badakhshan, Bamyan, Surrey Bridge and Balkh.

However, it now seems that the Taliban are determined to establish their rule in the area and have launched a full-scale operation there, which is likely to continue for some time to come.
