The US Secretary of State has said that there are still 1,500 US citizens in Afghanistan, while the Taliban have agreed to allow the withdrawal even after August 31.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blankenship says 4,500 Americans have returned so far, while hundreds of Americans have been evacuated from Afghanistan in the past day.
Anthony Blankenship has said that the evacuation process in Afghanistan is historic, but that efforts at the evacuation process are at a critical juncture.
It should be noted that under the agreement with the Taliban, the United States and its allies have to complete the withdrawal from Afghanistan by August 31, for which efforts are underway.
On the other hand, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has said that the US and allied forces should complete the evacuation as promised, otherwise we will not be responsible for their security after August 31.
Zabihullah Mujahid said that there is no ban on foreigners leaving Afghanistan but the way to Kabul airport is completely closed for the Afghan people.
The Afghan Taliban took control of Kabul on August 15, after which there was a rush of people leaving the country at Kabul airport, while President Ashraf Ghani fled the country.
