Taliban leader Mullah Hebatullah issued a policy statement for the Taliban government in a message expressing his determination to put Afghanistan on the path of speedy development.
In the message, Mullah Hebatullah has made education, economy and reconstruction a priority for maintaining Sharia law.
Mullah Hebatullah called for using all means for economic growth and prosperity, as well as strengthening security.
The Taliban leader said that the most important goal would be to put Afghanistan on its feet. Calling education one of the most important needs, he said that work should be done for the promotion of modern science.
He said the Taliban government would value professors, doctors, scientists, engineers and educated people, and called on businessmen and investors to help lift Afghanistan out of poverty, reduce unemployment and strengthen the economy.
The message assured the media of freedom but made it clear that Islamic principles and the national interest must be taken into account.
Mullah Hebatullah says neighboring countries want strong and good relations with Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China based on mutual respect.
“Afghanistan’s territory will not be used against any other country, and all international laws, treaties, resolutions and promises that do not conflict with Islamic law will be respected,” he said.
Mullah Hebatullah clarified that Afghanistan is the common home of all and no one should worry about the future. The new government of Afghanistan does not want enmity with anyone. All Afghans will have the right to live in dignity and peace without any discrimination.
