The first T20 International series between India and Afghanistan will be played in January. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has clarified that a three-match T20 series will be played between the two countries. The India and Afghanistan teams have faced each other many times at ICC and other events, but no white-ball series, i.e. limited overs series, have ever been played between the two.
This is the first time that both teams will face each other in the white-ball series. Previously, India and Afghanistan had met in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Now both teams will compete against each other in the series of 3 international T20 matches. The Afghan team will tour India for this series. The first match of the series between the two will be played on January 11 in Mohali, the second on January 14 in Indore and the third and final match on January 17 in Bengaluru. As of writing this news, both teams have not announced the roster for the series.

- Third T20I match – January 17, Bengaluru.
We tell you that Afghanistan won 4 out of 9 league games in 2023, after which the team finished the tournament in sixth place on points. However, Afghanistan, who had won four games, were defeated by eight wickets in the match against India. While in the tournament Afghan team defeated England by 69 runs, Pakistan by 8 wickets, Sri Lanka by 7 wickets and Netherlands by 7 wickets. Afghanistan seemed to be in very good form in the tournament.
After defeating the Netherlands in the tournament, Afghanistan had reached the stage where it was decided to reach the semi-finals. But the team ended that hope by losing their last two games.
