The Spanish kata teams, to the European final

The Spanish male and female kata teams have qualified for the final of the European Karate Championship being disputed in Gaziantep, Turkey.

The men’s team consisting of Sergio Galán, Alejandro Manzana and Raúl Martín reached a score of 25.32 with the kata Chatanyara Kushankuonly surpassed by the Turkish team, which was scored with 25.54, with whom they will play the final next Sunday.

The women’s team made up of María López, Lidia Rodríguez and Raquel Roy reached 25.08 points after performing the Tomai Bassai kata, the second best after Italy with 25.26, so both will fight for gold.

Both teams are the European runners-up in the last European held in 2021 in Porec (Croatia), precisely against the same rivals they will face this year.

In kumité, in the -55 kilos category, Carlota Fernández fell in the first match against the Ukrainian Anzhelika Terliuga 9-0.
