The signing Tottenham want to make with the sale of Richarlison

According to Football Insider’s sources, Tottenham are on the cusp of a turnaround strategy in the January transfer window and are preparing to sell striker Richarlison and use the proceeds to strengthen their defensive line.

Tottenham officials are ready to capitalize on any substantial offers for the 26-year-old, particularly from the Saudi Pro League, and have made it clear they are ready to listen to offers next month.

Richarlison, whose £60million move from Everton in 2022 was not as successful as hoped, has struggled to find his best form in north London, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 48 appearances for Spurs. The opportunity to part ways with Richarlison via a Saudi Pro League bid gives Spurs the chance to free up financial resources that they want to put into signing a new defender.

Tottenham is looking for a new central defender

Due to injuries to Eric Dier and Micky van de Ven in recent weeks, coach Ange Postecoglou’s defensive options have been limited, making reinforcements in this area an urgent priority. Tottenham are looking to strengthen their defense as they compete with Manchester United for £40m Jean-Clair Todibo.

Despite being linked with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite, the Toffees are reluctant to let him leave in January. Tottenham enter a dynamic transfer window and are looking to reshuffle their squad to meet immediate needs and strengthen their position in the second half of the season.
