The scary video of a huge crack in the pillar of a roller coaster

Described as the “longest giga-coaster in North America”, the Fury 325 roller coaster, more than 100 meters high, made visitors to Carowinds park, located in the State of North Carolina, tremble with fear , in the USA. However, it is not for the sensations it provides, but for the huge crack on one of the poles supporting the attraction that a visitor, Jérémy Wagner, filmed this Friday.

“I was trying to film and my hands were shaking, because I knew it could quickly become catastrophic”, testified Jérémy Wagner to the New York Times. After making the video, he forwarded the footage to park officials, who decided to shut down the attraction. Before he noticed the crack, his daughter had already used the carousel eight times that day.

The amusement park told our colleagues that “park staff” had “noticed a crack at the top of a steel support pillar”. The Carowinds spokesperson assured that the attraction would remain closed while the work needed to consolidate the weakened pillar took place. The rest of the amusement park nevertheless remained open to the public over the weekend.

On Sunday, the North Carolina Department of Labor spokeswoman said the office of elevators and amusement devices would be on site to provide an update on the situation and conduct an investigation.
