The Rings of Power season 2 should explore the origins of Khamûl the Oriental, one of the Nine | Geek Lands

By going to Rhun, The Stranger and Nori will meet mythical characters from Tolkien’s Lore. Whether it’s potentials Istari or one of the Nine, the second season of Rings of Power will immerse us in the heart of the Lord of the Rings. One of the New, second to the Witch King, Khamul, was once king of the lands of Rhun, where our two heroes go. While the first three Rings of Power have just been forged, the arrival of Nazgul no longer a shadow of a doubt. But, before suffering the devastating corruption of the One, Ringwraiths were first of flesh and bone, this is what we should discover from the start of this second season.

Although Khamul has not yet been corrupted, the nine sided with Morgoth during the First Age. However, the inhabitants of the Southern Lands have proven that this does not prevent them from supporting other camps. In this context, Khamul the Oriental could just as well serve as friend or foe to the Outlander and Nori as they both head for the lands of Rhun.

The past of Khamul the Orientaland that of all Nazgul, is largely unexplored in the original texts of Tolkien, which leaves very good prospects for the Rings of Power to explore and flesh out these characters. The corrupting force of Rings of Power has already been well explored in the original trilogy of the Lord of the Ringsbut season 2 of Rings of Power offers the opportunity to demonstrate it. By showing that even the formidable Nazgul were humans, maybe even good men, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power can show the true extent of the corrupting force of Sauron.
