The rain approaches Alonso

It’s raining in Singapore and that could affect the rest of the Grand Prix. Free Practice 3 was wet, there was no running during the first half hour and then the drivers came out on intermediate tyres. There is a reasonable forecast of rain for qualifying and the race, 60%, but it seems almost impossible that a downpour does not fall at any time that floods the track and generates mixed conditions. Better that the skies not open during the race, because the torrential rains of this tropical climate would make any type of competition impossible.

Meanwhile, the training sessions were a succession of attempts on asphalt that improved with every step. Leclerc and Verstappen stood out, separated by half a second but even for almost the entire session. Carlos Sainz finished third, one second off the fastest time; and Fernando Alonso progressed to fourth place, 1.6 behind the Ferrari. He was the only one to enter the fray with the fastest cars, well ahead of the Mercedes, and was almost a second and a half ahead of his teammate Ocon. The Asturian was eighth in the time table on Friday, although he lapped less than usual due to an oil leak in the gearbox during the first practice session. Qualifying is at 15:00 CET (21:00 local time). And if it rains again, anything can happen.
