The Pumas lost to South Africa at the end of the Rugby Championship

The Argentine rugby team, Los Pumas, lost tightly against their South African counterpart by just one point, 22-21, in a match played at the Emirates Airline Park, in Johannesburg. It was for the third and last day of the Rugby Championshipwhich New Zealand won earlier with their victory over Australia.

The Pumas closed their participation in the Rugby Championship, with two defeats and one win. They fell in Mendoza against the All Blacks and then beat Australia visitor in the last play.

The Pumas started up with a Carreras penalty, 2 minutes into the game. 6 minutes later another Santiago Carreras penalty put the match 6 to 0 for the Argentines. At 12, South Africa discounted with a penalty. At 18, a Springbok try made the game 8-6.

The push of the South Africans in a scrum led to another try, which was converted. a third Carreras penalty set the final numbers for the first half.

In the second half, there were 18 minutes left when the Pumas advanced in a good counterattack, cornering the locals. However, an intercepted pass led to the Springboks’ third try. The conversion completed a 7-point play.
