The PSG-Bayern Munich, main dish of the Champions League

The round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League arrive this Tuesday with a strong dish, when in the Parc des Princes PSG faces Bayern Munich, in what resembles a more than advanced final, a day that will also sneak into the menu for Milan against Tottenham.

The two giants arrive -as usual- leading their leagues, but with a PSG beaten by their defeat at the weekend (1-3) and dismal results since January, an interregnum in which they fell four times (five wins), including matches of drinks.

But the biggest bump for the Parisians would be the absence of their mega-star Kylian Mbappé due to a strain. The medical report assigned the lethal striker three weeks out, although on Sunday it seemed that he could reach the first leg after enormous efforts, since his presence at the Eiffel Tower is almost life or death.

Among all the tidal wave, the good news is that Lionel Messi has proliferated the networks. The Argentine has not only maintained a high standard of assists, but also scored three goals in the period.

The French troops like the Bavarian will reissue their last clash that occurred in the quarterfinals of the 2020-21 season, an occasion that favored PSG (3-3) made a better match for the value that the visiting goals had on the occasion.

Will PSG hold up?

Thomas Mueller’s Bayern also arrives with poor results, in which they have four draws – and three victories – in their matches both in the Bundesliga and cup cups.

But the big problem for the French continues to be their porous containment, against the same “Fuhrer” who swept the previous stage, with a scorer index +16, in addition to barely allowing two shouts to their rivals.

Although PSG had to be the favorite to advance, if Mbappé’s malaria persists, it would tip the balance significantly, even if the Bondy native can do it for the return in Germany. And as if that were not enough, the Bavarians arrive at the appointment through heaven after thrashing (3-0) in the league.

In the other clash of the day, at the Giuseppe Meazza, AC Milan will face Tottenham, with the greatly enlarged Olivier Giroud facing the superb all-terrain attacker Harry Kane.

The French attacker has been very lethal since the World Cup, very bad news for the English.

It will be a match of very similar teams, where the second most winning club in La Orejona (7) has a greater attack, and without a doubt, the Italian looks with the inside lane to advance.

on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the main matchup will be between the German Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea, at Signal Iduna Park, a confrontation between the superb Marco Reus and Jude Bellinghan and those led by Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic and an always feared company.

It is a game with a good attack, but with routes that are very open to the rivals.

The other match will be at the Jan Breydelstadion, where Bruges will receive the great sensation of the championship, Benfica.

The series looks clearly for the team located in Lisbon, with a devastating attack in the first phase, and above all for its complete game, thanks to the synchrony between all the lines.
