The price that Chelsea put on Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso

As reported by the newspaper Catalan Sportsthe Chelsea has set the selling price of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso for this summer transfer market. Both players are targets of the FC Barcelona at the request of Xavi Hernández and because of the club’s need to strengthen its full-backs for next season.

The Blue team is demanding 13 million euros for each of its sides to let them out, taking into account that both end their contract in the summer of 2023 and want to leave the club to play for the Barça team. The situation of both players has opened the door for them to become the club’s new signings for next season.

FC Barcelona believes that they can lower the price of both in a negotiation, to the point that they can offer players to convince Chelsea to accept a lower financial offer.

Xavi Hernández requested the signing of both players for different reasons:

-Marcos Alonso: He would arrive to fight for the starting position with Jordi Alba and be able to enhance the rotation on the left side. He is a very experienced footballer and wants to have continuity to fight for a place in Luis Enrique’s squad for the World Cup.

-César Azpilicueta: He would arrive to occupy the role of Dani Alves, who left because his contract ended, and to be able to rotate with Sergi Roberto and Sergiño Dest. His experience and his fit into the idea of the game is what Xavi likes the most.
