The Pope returns to the Vatican after undergoing a scheduled medical check-up

Vatican City (BLAZETRENDS).- Pope Francis returned to the Vatican after undergoing scheduled medical check-ups on Tuesday at the Gemelli hospital in Rome, the Italian media reported.

According to these same sources, Francisco had gone during the morning to the Center for Aging Medicine (Cemi) of the Gemelli Polyclinic, the hospital where he has been admitted twice, the last one at the end of March.

And shortly after an hour, the Pope left the center that deals with assistance to the “fragile” elderly through global and individualized intervention protocols, according to its website.

The Vatican did not report these controls, although today the pontiff had nothing planned on his agenda.

On May 26, the pope had to cancel his schedule due to having a fever, but the next day he reappeared in good shape and continued with his activities.

Francisco was admitted for three nights at the end of March at the Gemelli hospital in Rome for “acute pneumonia”, as he explained during the return flight from his trip to Hungary.

“What I have had is that I felt bad after the hearing, I did not want to eat and I went to sleep, but I did not lose consciousness, I just had a high fever,” he said when asked about the reasons for his three-day hospitalization in the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome.

That was the second time that Francisco was admitted to the Gemelli. The first took place on July 4, 2021, when he underwent colon surgery and was hospitalized for ten days and made a slow recovery.

Since then, the Pope has also suffered from a problem in his right knee that forces him to walk with a cane or use a wheelchair, but he has assured on several occasions that he does not want to undergo surgery.
