The places at stake for Paris 2024 during the month of June

After more than two months without competitions that would grant direct places for Paris 2024 that could be accessed by Spanish athletes, June appears to be quite an exciting month. The European Games will be the main focus of attention, but also the European Under-21 Soccer Cup, the World Surf Games or the Final of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup.

It will be the starting signal for a summer full of competitions that will grant direct places or that will be very important in the face of the different rankings that are already open: taekwondo —this week the World Cup is taking place—, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, MTB, triathlon, archery, golf, skateboarding, judo, track cycling, BMX Racing, weightlifting, shooting, road cycling, 3×3 basketball —also in the middle of the World Cup—, horse riding, beach volleyball, fencing and badminton. As of June 17, the modern pentathlon will begin.

The two places obtained so far by Spain were obtained by Fátima Gálvez in trap (shooting) and the rhythmic gymnastics group, made up of Inés Bergua, Mireia Martínez, Ana Arnau, Salma Solaun, Valeria Márquez and Patricia Pérez. It must be remembered that none of the aforementioned is guaranteed its presence in Paris 2024, since said places are granted to the country and not to the athlete, although everything indicates that, except for injury, practically all of them will be in the French capital. Not all because the rhythmic group will have to discard.

The events or sports that grant direct places for Paris 2024 during the month of June are the following:

Athletics

The Olympic qualification period has already begun in some tests: marathon, since last November 1, and march, combined and 10,000 meters since last December 31.
