After more than two months without competitions that would grant direct places for Paris 2024 that could be accessed by Spanish athletes, June appears to be quite an exciting month. The European Games will be the main focus of attention, but also the European Under-21 Soccer Cup, the World Surf Games or the Final of the Modern Pentathlon World Cup.
It will be the starting signal for a summer full of competitions that will grant direct places or that will be very important in the face of the different rankings that are already open: taekwondo —this week the World Cup is taking place—, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, MTB, triathlon, archery, golf, skateboarding, judo, track cycling, BMX Racing, weightlifting, shooting, road cycling, 3×3 basketball —also in the middle of the World Cup—, horse riding, beach volleyball, fencing and badminton. As of June 17, the modern pentathlon will begin.
The two places obtained so far by Spain were obtained by Fátima Gálvez in trap (shooting) and the rhythmic gymnastics group, made up of Inés Bergua, Mireia Martínez, Ana Arnau, Salma Solaun, Valeria Márquez and Patricia Pérez. It must be remembered that none of the aforementioned is guaranteed its presence in Paris 2024, since said places are granted to the country and not to the athlete, although everything indicates that, except for injury, practically all of them will be in the French capital. Not all because the rhythmic group will have to discard.
The events or sports that grant direct places for Paris 2024 during the month of June are the following:
The Olympic qualification period has already begun in some tests: marathon, since last November 1, and march, combined and 10,000 meters since last December 31. This means that the athletes who compete in these tests can already obtain minimums. It must be remembered that the maximum number of athletes per country and event is three and that these places are nominal, unless a country has more than three minimums in a test. In that case, you can choose your three representatives among the athletes who have that minimum and designate a reserve. In addition, the results in these tests already count towards the Olympic ranking. This period ends on June 30, 2024 —two months earlier in the marathon, which on December 31, 2023 will grant places to the 64 best brands with a minimum and respecting the maximum of three athletes per country— and the minimum can be seen at the image below.
Since last January 1 you can already obtain minimums in swimming. It must be remembered that the maximum number of swimmers per country and event is two and that these places are nominal, unless a country has more than two minimum A’s in a test. In that case, you can choose your two representatives among the swimmers who have that minimum. In addition, each country can compete in Paris 2024 with a maximum of 28 male and 28 female swimmers and a swimmer who has obtained the minimum A in an event can compete in any other in which his country has not obtained any minimum A. In the case of the minimum B, the maximum is one swimmer per country and test, provided that in said test they have not obtained a minimum A. Those places with a minimum B will be assigned through the Olympic ranking on June 23, 2024, the maximum date for achieve the minimum, which can be seen in the image below.
World Surf Games
They are held until June 7 in El Sunzal and La Bocana in El Salvador. They award a place to the best European surfer by gender, to which those who have already obtained the ticket through the World Surf League or whose country has already obtained two places cannot aspire. It is necessary for said surfer to finish the competition in the top 30. These places are nominal. The Spanish team is made up of Aritz Aranburu, Adur Amatriaín, Gonzalo Gutiérrez, Nadia Erostarbe, Ariane Ochoa and Garazi Sánchez.

Santi Denia will offer the squad list this Friday, June 2, starting at 12:00 p.m.
