The Panthers want to continue celebrating against Japan

The Argentine women’s volleyball team will face Japan this Sunday in their last match of Group D of the World Cup in the Netherlands and Poland, after securing their historic qualification for the second round on Friday.

The Panthers will play against the Japanese team from 9:15 a.m. in Argentina with transmission from ESPN and the Star+ platform in the city of Arnhem, 90 kilometers away from Amsterdam, the Dutch capital. Hernán Ferraro’s team has already added two wins and advanced to the World Cup phase for the first time in history. The victory in a tie break against Colombia, combined with the previous one against the Czech Republic, guaranteed the continuity of Las Panteras in the competition, which had begun with predictable defeats against China and Brazil.

The second round will be played between next Tuesday and Sunday the 9th in two zones of eight selected, which will be made up of the best four from each group of the first instance. One venue will be Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and the other Lodz (Poland).

Again, the best four of each group of the second phase will advance to the quarterfinals, which will mark the beginning of the direct elimination matches from Tuesday the 11th. The semifinals will be played on Wednesday the 12th and Thursday the 13th; while third place and final will take place on Saturday 15 in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn.
