Everyone accepts that the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the biggest and most famous cricket league in the world. Players get the most money in IPL. Often a player in the IPL is bid so high that that money can be used to buy one or two teams in another league. Despite all this, some people still praise the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Pakistan players often call PSL bigger and better than IPL. But now a Pakistani player has criticized the Pakistan Super League and called the Indian Premier League the biggest league in the world.
This was said by none other than Sikandar Raza. Sikandar plays international cricket for Zimbabwe, but Raza was born in Punjab, Pakistan. Failing to get opportunities in his country, Raza turned to Zimbabwe and decided to play cricket from there. Currently, Raza has recovered as a star batsman. Let us tell you that Sikandar made his IPL debut in 2023, the last season itself. Sikandar was bought by Punjab Kings for a price of Rs 50 lakh.
Talking to Sports Now, Raza said, “Even when it comes to PSL, IPL is the best league so far. It is much better than PSL. That’s what I’m trying to say. Yes, I’m not a big fan of comparisons. But yes, it is. I think IPL is the biggest league in the world.”
It is noteworthy that IPL, which started in 2008, brought a revolution in T20 cricket. In light of the IPL, many countries started their own T20 leagues, which includes Pakistan’s Pakistan Super League. When the first season of PSL was played, eight seasons of IPL had already been played. The 16th season of IPL was played in 2023 while only half of it i.e. the 8th season of PSL was played.
