Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the latest data of the 2022 tiger census. Currently, the number of tigers in the country is 3 thousand 167.

According to the information received, the number of tigers in India was 1 thousand 411 in 2006, 1 thousand 706 in 2010, 2 thousand 226 in 2014, 2 thousand 967 in 2018 and 3 thousand 167 in 2022.

Narendra Modi is currently at a tiger collection center in the southern Indian state of Karnataka to mark 50 years of ‘Project Tiger’. There he released the latest information on the tiger census.

At the inaugural session to celebrate 50 years of ‘Project Tiger’, the Prime Minister launched the ‘International Big Cat Alliance’, which will focus on the protection and conservation of the world’s seven big cats, including tigers and lions.

During this time he published a book titled ‘Amrit Kal Ka Tiger Vision’, which presents the vision of tiger conservation in the next 25 years.
