The Nobel Peace Prize went to journalists from Russia and the Philippines.
The Nobel Peace Prize was announced by the Nobel Committee in Geneva on Friday.

According to the committee, the award is based on his efforts to protect expression. Dmitry Moratov is the editor-in-chief of Russia’s only critical newspaper, the New Gazeta. He has also won the International Press Freedom Award in the struggle for press freedom.
Maria Risa is the co-founder and CEO of Repeller. She has been doing investigative reporting for CNN for 20 years. He was also sentenced to cyber-labeling last year under a controversial cybercrime law. The move was called an attack on press freedom.
