River Plate have eyed José Manuel López as a possible signing to fill the void left by the departure of Salomón Rondón. The Argentine striker, who caught the eye in Lanús before joining Palmeiras for $7 million in 2022, has not been able to secure the ownership he desires since arriving in Brazil. Looking for a new destination, López has now caught the attention of River Plate, who are looking to extend their lead.
The need for a new center forward at River Plate arose after the contract termination of Salomón Rondón, who dealt with family problems while adapting to Argentina and moved to Pachuca of Mexico. With only Miguel Borja and young Agustín Ruberto left in the squad, the Argentine club is determined to strengthen its attacking line, adding that Colidio can also take that spot in the rotation

José Manuel López, the new candidate for River forward.
After the option of repatriating Lucas Alario disappeared, the name José Manuel López appeared as a viable option. River Plate had shown interest in José Manuel López before his move to Brazil and now, given his situation at Palmeiras, the Argentine club welcomes the opportunity to secure his services.
Although López has made 40 appearances for Palmeiras this season, most of them as a substitute, he could be headed out on loan and River Plate appear keen to take advantage of the opportunity. The River Plate team are keen to strengthen their squad and believe López's experience in Brazilian football could give their attacking line an added boost in the next phase of the season.
