The Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation, María González Corral, inspected this morning the result of the work carried out on the CL-603 intersection, which passes through the city of San Miguel de Bernuy, in Segovia. At a meeting, he took stock of the more than 17.5 million euros that the ministry has invested in the province of Segovia in 2023, of which more than 7.5 million euros for works to preserve the heritage of the road and another 10 million The corresponding section was intended for Segovia on the highway that connects this province with Valladolid.
The work, completed in November, involved an investment of more than 350,000 euros, during which more than 3,800 tonnes of asphalt mix were installed. In connection with the Ministry’s commitment to environmental sustainability, “more than 30,000 kilos of dust from unused tires were used” to contribute to environmental protection and “to use these tires to repair our roads,” explained González.
This therefore meant an improvement in the road network of the province of Segovia, since, according to the Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation, this intersection, which corresponds to the municipality of San Miguel de Bernuy, is 2.8 kilometers long and on which more than 250 trucks pass daily, “which ultimately causes it to deteriorate.”
These measures consisted of cleaning, profiling and clearing the trenches and spreading the asphalt mixture. In addition, the necessary vertical and horizontal signage was installed, which for the department represents “a firm commitment to the means of communication, such as roads, that reach all of our communities in order to preserve and sustain them.”
Petitions to the central government
For her part, during the visit, the consultant addressed a series of requests to the central government of the province of Segovia, among which the railway connection stands out, in which “we ask for more places to continue with the bonuses and open more trains and timetables”.
In addition, he highlighted the connection with the Segovia-Guiomar train station, explaining that on the part of the Junta de Castilla y León “work is underway on the need to commit to the dry port, on the intermodal railway platform” and on the issue of highways: “We have the San Rafael variant and the liberalization of all tolls, as has happened on other highways.”
