The 'low-cost' striker that Sevilla hope to sign

Sevilla already have a plan to find a replacement for Rafa Mir, who is close to signing for Valencia. In the midst of the negotiations, the name of Lucas Boyé, a player from Elche, emerged as the main candidate to fill the vacancy in the Andalusian team.

With Elche relegated to the second division, Lucas Boyé may be looking for an opportunity to continue in La Liga and keep his agreed salary of €2m. Sevilla have shown interest in the Argentine striker and are considering taking him on loan at no cost to the club.

This option would be advantageous for Sevilla, who, by obtaining Boyé’s transfer, will not have to pay a significant amount for his transfer. On the other hand, Elche could see in this transfer a way to ease their financial situation after the descent and keep the player’s property without having to bear this financial burden.

Some sort of call option could be negotiated

Sevilla’s new sporting director, Víctor Orta, is responsible for continuing negotiations to secure Lucas Boyé’s loan until the end of the season. However, there is a possibility that during this period the Andalusian club will try to agree a purchase option in order to secure the services of the Argentine forward in the long term.

Lucas Boyé has proven himself at Elche and has been an outstanding player during his time in La Liga, which could be a good sign for Sevilla. His incorporation could provide a new attacking option to the squad and fill the void left by the departure of Rafa Mir.
