The Little Mermaid: the live-action remake will last almost an hour longer than the animated film and has already set a first record

Disney continues to revisit its great classics with its next live-action adaptation of The little Mermaidembodied by hall Bailey. As the theatrical release date approaches, we learn that The Little Mermaid has become the longest film in Disney’s live-action remake catalogalso ahead of Cruella, released in 2021.

Ariel’s epic will indeed last 135 minuteseither two hours and fifteen minutes, while the 1989 animated film spanned 83 minutes. Below is the ranking (Cruella included, although technically not a remake, the film is still an adaptation), of the durations of Disney’s live-action reboots.

  • The Little Mermaid (2023) – 2H35 minutes

Note that the movie The Little Mermaid (2023) is considered, in view of the test screenings, as the ” best disney remake“. Time will tell us.
