Bad news for fans waiting for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda. The release date just got pushed back.
New Release Date
Nintendo announced the delay on Twitter. The movie was initially set to hit theaters on March 26, 2027. Now, it’s scheduled for May 7, 2027. That’s about a month later than expected.
Shigeru Miyamoto broke the news. He said production reasons are behind the delay. The team wants to make sure the film meets everyone’s high expectations.
This is Miyamoto. For production reasons, we are changing the release date of the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda to May 7, 2027. It will be some weeks later than the release timing we originally announced, and we will take the extra time to make the film as good as it…

About the Film
The Legend of Zelda movie was first announced earlier this year on the Nintendo Today app. It’s a collaboration between Sony Pictures and Nintendo. Wes Ball, known for directing Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is at the helm.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see their favorite game come to life on the big screen. But if it means a better movie, it might be worth the wait.
