According to foreign media reports, the wedding of Princess Azima Nimat Al Balqia, the daughter of 76-year-old Sultan Hassan Al Balqia of Brunei, one of the richest people in the world, took place this month in a lavish traditional manner.

The wedding celebrations began on January 11 with a ‘royal powdering ceremony’ after official permission from the Sultan, which continued for a week after the 38-year-old princess, the eighth child of her billionaire father, married her first. Cousin Prince Bahar Ibn Jafari was born from Balqiya.

According to Arab News, the wedding ceremony lasted for a week at the Sultan’s residence, Astana Nurul Aman, which is located outside the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Apart from the powdering, the traditional ceremonies included the marriage signing ceremony and a grand reception. The marriage ceremony was held at the Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, which is considered a national heritage of Brunei.

In Brunei’s royal culture, the ‘powdering’ ceremony involves the bride wearing a pink dress and gold, while the couple is sprinkled with colored rice powder by the family and their hands are anointed with fragrant oil. Is.

At the reception, Princess Azima wore a white gown while her husband, Prince Bahar Ibn Jafari al-Balqiyya, wore a white military uniform.
