The Naughty Dog company and the American channel HBO took advantage of The Last of Us Day – which takes place every September 26 to mark the beginning of the epidemic in the history of the game – to publish the first photo of the series adapted from the famous video game.
The photo shows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) from behind, as they find themselves facing the wreckage of a crashed plane in the wilderness. Fans of the video game can recognize the two characters just by the sight of their clothes and the bags they carry. The text “Look for the light” accompanies the photo. Like a nod to the lighting of the scene which blurs the line between the series and the video game.

One of the show’s creators, Neil Druckmann, got excited after the snap was posted on social media. “When I first saw them in costume on set, I was like ‘fuck! It’s Joel and Ellie! ”, He wrote, assuring in passing that the production of the series was progressing at full speed. For information, the shooting of the pilot episode directed by Kantemir Balagov, was closed on August 31.
When I first saw them on set in full costume, I was like: “Hooooooly shit! It’s Joel & Ellie!!”

The first season of The Last of Us will have 10 episodes. The fans are already warned that the scenario – signed by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin – could make events “diverge greatly”, according to Druckmann.
“Some things are close. It’s funny to see my in-game dialogue in HBO storylines. And sometimes they diverge greatly for a better effect, because we are dealing with a different medium (…) Some of my favorite episodes at the moment are very different from the story, and I can’t wait for people to see them ”, specified he at the site IGN last March.
