The iPhone 15 will have one of the biggest novelties in the camera of these smartphones

The renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published another note to investors where he leaves some predictions for the future of Apple smartphones. This document essentially looks at the cameras on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15.

The last, although more distant, is the one that brings one of the greatest evolutions in iPhone cameras. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 will be the first to feature a periscope lens.

The iPhone 15 will be the first with a periscope lens

In the document that the 9to5 Mac publication had access to, we can read that the periscope lens will be an integral part of the iPhone that will be presented in the second half of 2023. At no time, the analyst confirms that this will be the iPhone 15.

Apple iPhone

Regardless, the most important thing to remember from this report is the presence of a periscope lens on the eventual iPhone 15. It will be Apple’s first smartphone with a lens in this category, although the Android world has been using it for a long time.

This type of lens provides a higher quality zoom than the traditional telephoto lenses found in iPhones today. The main advantage of periscope lenses is the optical zoom that is achieved, which can reach 10 times without loss of quality.

Brands like Samsung and Huawei already do it on their smartphones and the results are excellent. However, the iPhone lags behind in this trend and everything indicates that this will be the case, at least until 2023.

The iPhone 14 Pro will come with a 48 MP prime lens

As for the iPhone 14, which will be presented in 2022, Apple will bet on lenses with higher resolution. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will get a 48 MP prime lens.

This information is not new, as it was previously provided by the same analyst. Therefore, this report serves to reinforce their conviction that Apple will indeed follow this path with its new range caps.
