The Indians call Modi ‘Panuti’

The word ‘Panuti’ has been trading on Twitter in India since the morning of August 3rd, it is actually a Hindi word meaning bad news in Urdu, unfortunately.

Netizens have blamed Modi for the hockey team’s defeat in the men’s semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics, calling him “sinister” or “pony.”

India and Belgium competed in the semifinals of the Tokyo Olympics. The Indian prime minister tweeted on a social media site to cheer on his hockey team.

When Modi tweeted, the Indian team was ahead two, one, but shortly after the tweet the situation changed and the Belgian team scored three goals in a row, this advantage was maintained until the end of the game due to the Indian men’s hockey team suffered a defeat.

The Indian prime minister said in his tweet that he was watching the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games semi-final match between India and Belgium.

“We are proud of our team and their capabilities, we wish them the best,” Modi wrote.
