The Indian cricket team will tour Zimbabwe in August after playing a limited series of overs against the West Indies. According to the report, the India team will play a three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe. The schedule for these matches has also been revealed.
FYI, let us tell you that this three match series will be part of the ICC One Day Super League. This series is important for the home team as the points from the series will count towards next year’s ODI World Cup qualification. However, they are not that important for India as the India team directly qualified for the World Cup which will be held in October 2023.
“We are very pleased to host India and look forward to a competitive and memorable series,” a Zimbabwe Cricket official said on Friday. A report from Cricbuzz said that currently all matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club in the capital and the Indian team is expected to arrive in Harare on August 15.
According to the report, the India team will play three ODIs in Zimbabwe on August 18, 20 and 22. All of these matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club. Let us tell you that this is Zimbabwe’s first tour of India in six years. The last time India came was when the team led by MS Dhoni played three ODIs and the same number of T20Is in June-July 2016.
