The II Engel & Völkers Trophy returns to the Abra

The II Engel & Völkers Trophy, organized by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club, which this year is celebrating its 125th Anniversary, is the next event in the 2023 sailing calendar of the Las Arenas Club. This championship begins this Saturday, April 22 in the Biscayan waters of the Abra, with the estimated departure for the cruisers at 1:00 p.m. and one hour before for the J80 monotypes. It will consist of four days, since it will also take place on May 6 and 27; and June 10.

With this II Trophy II Engel & Völkers Trophy, the crews refine their preparation for the most relevant championships of the year, such as the Reverse Regatta-BBVA on May 1st, the XVIII Surne Regatta-58º Eskarra Trophy, the XXXVIII Regatta of Bizkaia de Cruceros-Porsche, the XXXII EKP Basque Coast Regatta-Golden Whale Trophy, the Gypsy Cup, or already in August the Getxo-Gijón Regatta/ One Sails 50+ League and the Getxo-Gijón-La Coruña. Starting in September it will be the turn of the Castro Cup, the X El Correo Trophy, the Red Cross Social Trophy or the Regata del Gallo, the event that closes a complete calendar each year. And during its celebration, the Iberdrola Women’s League will also take place in May or the J80-Lurauto Spanish Championship in June.

The premiere of this Engel & Völkers Trophy, organized by the Real Club Marítimo del Abra-Real Sporting Club a year ago, saw Akelarre win in the Regatta class, Marmotinha in Cruise I, Kohen in Cruise II and Biobizz among the J80s.
