The The General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ) declared the trust created by Santiago Maratea “ineffective and irregular” for the collection of money destined to pay debts of the Independent Athletic Club, for having registered in the province of Neuquén through a “special domicile”, when the young influencer has legal domicile in the City of Buenos Aires. The control body will advance “urgently” with a judicial presentation so that an auditor is appointed to report the movements of money in the account.
The influencer, who is the owner of the D & D Foundation domiciled in CABA, launched the collection at the end of April after the resounding resignation of Fabian Doman as president and the assumption of the former mayor and pre-candidate for Buenos Aires governor Néstro Grindetti. In one week, Maratea raised more than 660 million pesos, out of a total of 8,800 million pesos that are needed to cover the debt that the Independiente maintains due to unfulfilled contracts.
He trust that was opened in the name of Maratea in Neuquén is called “Maratea Rojo Gogo” and was registered on April 21, 2023. The IGJ considered the fact as a manifest irregularity for which it will request a judicial auditor to act as “informant and controller” and maintain an open channel of information regarding the actions carried out by Maratea regarding the “raising and management of funds to be used for the cancellation of certain debts contracted by Club Atlético Independiente” and requested that the club also be summoned as a third party interested.
