U19 World Cup 2024: Australia won the 2024 Under-19 World Cup title by defeating India by 79 runs. Batting first, the Australian team gave India a target of 254 runs, following which the Indian team scored 174 runs. Except for the final, Team India has not lost a game in the 2024 U19 World Cup. The team performed well in all three divisions but failed to perform well in the final. Now ICC has announced the best team for the 2024 U19 World Cup.
So many Indian players got a chance
ICC has announced the best team for the 2024 U19 World Cup. Four Indian players received a place. These include Uday Saharan, Musheer Khan, Sachin Dhas and spinner Saumya Pandey. The team was selected by a panel of media, broadcasters and ICC officials. Three players from champions Australia, two from hosts South Africa and one each from West Indies and Pakistan were included in this team.
Indian players put in a strong performance
Uday Saharan of India was the top run-scorer in the U19 World Cup 2024. He scored 397 runs. Musheer Khan had scored 360 runs. He came second. Sachin Dhas had scored 303 runs. Soumya Pandey took 18 wickets with his excellent bowling. He was the second highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
This player became captain
Hugh Wiebgen of Australia has been named captain of the best team at the 2024 U19 World Cup. Under his captaincy, Australia won the 2024 U19 World Cup trophy. Besides him, Harry Dixon and Callum Vidler from Australia have a chance. Ubaid Shah bowled magnificently for Pakistan. For this reason he also has a chance on this team. The Scot Jamie Dunk was given the place as the 12th player.
