On behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board, the ICC has found several players and officials guilty of breaching the ECB’s anti-corruption code during the Abu Dhabi T10 League. Former Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hussain is in trouble. He was also found guilty of the violation. For this reason, action was taken against him. At the same time, the ICC suspended six people.

The all-rounder from Bangladesh is stranded

Eight players, officials and team owners have been found guilty of violating the anti-corruption code during the Abu Dhabi T10 League. The T10 league was played between November 19, 2021 and December 4, 2021. A total of 6 teams took part in the tournament. Nasir Hussain, who played 19 Tests, 65 ODIs and 31 T20 matches for Bangladesh, has been charged by the ICC under Article 2.4.3, Article 2.4.4 and Article 2.4.6. Nasir had accepted gifts while playing in the T10 league but he had not revealed anything about it. People who had contacted him about corruption. Nasir didn’t say anything about it during the investigation. For this reason he was charged. Nasir has not played international cricket since 2017. He plays in the Bangladesh Premier League and is also the captain of the Dhaka franchise.

6 defendants suspended

The two co-owners of the teams, Krishna Kumar Chaudhary and Parag Sanghvi, were charged under Article 2.4.5, Article 2.4.6 and Article 2.4.7. Neither of them cooperated with the investigation. Team manager Shadab Ahmed, Sunny Dhillon (assistant coach), Ashar Zaidi (hitting coach) and two local players (Salia Saman, Rizwan Javed) are the others accused of violating the code. The six defendants were suspended and given 14 days from September 19, 2023 to respond to all allegations.

The Abu Dhabi T10 League sports management has expressed its disappointment and reiterated its stance on fighting corruption by working closely with the ICC. According to the Cricbuzz report, Abu Dhabi T10 sports management said in a statement that we take all these allegations seriously and have a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
