India vs West Indies T20 Series: The Indian team lost by 2 wickets in their second T20 game against the West Indies. The win gave the West Indies a 2-0 lead in the five-game T20I series. In the second T20, Nicholas Pooran scored an impressive 67 for the West Indies and won the team. He proved to be the team’s greatest hero in that game. Now the ICC has fined him for an important reason.
Nicholas Pooran got this punishment
Wicket-keeper-batsman Nicholas Pooran, the hero of the West Indies’ second T20 win over India, has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for publicly criticizing the umpires during the game. Pooran’s offense was level one. He was found guilty of violating Article 2.7 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Staff, which relates to public criticism of an incident during an international match.
This happened in the fourth over of the inning
Nicholas Pooran has accepted his mistake and accepted a reprimand from match umpire Richie Richardson, which did not require a hearing. Apart from that, a minus point has been added to Puran’s Discipline. This is his first mistake in the last 24 months. The incident came after a review of the LBW decision in the fourth over of the inning. Pooran criticized the umpires for using the players’ assessment to make the decision when he felt the batsman was clearly not out.
Team India was defeated
The Indian team gave the West Indies a target of 153 runs to win the second T20, which was easily achieved by the West Indies team. Nicholas Pooran played a stormy inning for the West Indies. He scored 67 runs in 40 balls. That cross made him the top runs scorer in the T20 International game against India. He was awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant innings.
