The Hotel Suitopía – Sol y Mar Suites has hosted the departure and arrival of a massive Women In Bike meeting that has been attended by fifty enthusiastic cyclists who have been able to visit a privileged enclave to enjoy the bike such as Calpe and its surroundings.
Women In Bike, the program of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation whose objective is to promote women’s cycling at the level of leisure and sports so that more and more women join in cycling in Spain, has once again enjoyed an event whose reception has been a complete success and which has had the presence of Ana Sala, mayoress of Calpe; Clara Santamaría, representative of Cycling Tourism and Women’s Cycling of the Cycling Federation of the Valencian Community; as well as the national women’s coach, Gema Pascual, and the Commercial Director of Sol y Mar Hotels, Sergio Baudot.
The hotel located in Calpe (Alicante) and distinguished with the RFEC Bike Territory seal for its infrastructures and services for cyclists has been the starting point of an event that began with a talk offered by the national road cycling team, paschal gemwho has been proud of the evolution of women’s cycling in our country both at a competitive level and, in this case, at a sporting level: “From the RFEC we are very proud of how Women In Bike continues to grow. It has already been five years in the promotion and promotion of these gatherings that are allowing thousands of women enjoy the bike in company. Doing it here today, in a hotel like Suitopía with the best facilities, and in a place like Calpe and all this beautiful area is really exciting”.
The mayoress of Calpe, Ana Sala, has indicated for her part that “we have spent years consolidating Calpe as a tourist municipality and cycling destination thanks to its surroundings, which is ideal for practicing this sport. Calpe is open 365 days a year and the commitment to cycling, and in this case to women’s cycling, makes it position itself at the highest level at the sports tourism level”.
Sergio Baudot, commercial director of Sol y Mar Hotels, wanted to highlight that “the day has been fantastic, the repercussion and acceptance that this meeting has had has been a pleasant surprise, with fifty women cycling fans who have decided to spend the day with us. The meeting has also had the collaboration of Infisport as a nutritional providerwhich has allowed cyclists to get supplies before and during the beautiful route enjoyed by the area.
