The highest-paid child actor, who was famous as Young Amitabh Bachchan, takes on this work after quitting acting

There has been a lot of talk about films like Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and Laawaris by Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan. In these films, a child actor played the childhood role of Amitabh Bachchan. His name is Mayur Raj Verma. You will be surprised to know that Mayur was the highest paid child actor between the 70s and 80s. However, he left acting at the peak of his career and now earns millions of rupees from the business.

Delhi-based Mayur Raj Verma entered Bollywood in 1978 with Muqaddar Ka Sikandar. He became famous under the name Master Mayur. Although he had no connection with the film world from the beginning, fate took him to the corridors of Bollywood.

Mayur’s mother was a famous writer and journalist of her time who conducted interviews with film stars. She wanted her son to make a name for himself in films, and that’s exactly what happened. According to media reports, during an interview with filmmaker Prakash Mehra, Mayur’s mother came to know that he was looking for a child actor for Amitabh Bachchan’s childhood role. After that, Mayur’s mother showed the filmmaker her son’s photos.


After seeing Mayur’s pictures, Prakash Mehra cast him in Muqaddar Ka Sikandar. The enormous success of the film made Mayur a star and he was then called the young Amitabh Bachchan. He also played Amitabh Bachchan’s childhood character in the film Lawaris. After that, Mayur had showcased his acting skills in films like Love in Goa, Sharabi and Kanoon Apna Apna.


The actor made headlines by playing the character of Abhimanyu in BR Chopra’s show Mahabharat. Mayur Raj Verma was touted as a future superstar, but in the meantime, he took a different decision for his future. Mayur suddenly disappeared from the screen. At the peak of his career, he said goodbye to acting and moved to Wales after marrying Chef Noori. The couple also has two children. He runs a restaurant called Indiana. They earn millions of rupees from this.
