Salesforce together with MuleSoft join forces to launch their first online Hackathon in Spain. Under the name of Salesforce Commerce Cloud & MuleSoft Challenge, both companies launch the challenge of creating innovative shopping experiences for customers using the new headless capabilities of Salesforce Commerce Cloud and MuleSoft APIs.
In the absence of a month for the deadline to receive applications, several teams are already in the running and starting to work on their proposals. The organization of the event, as well as partners and clients have contributed to generate a final batch of prizes valued at more than € 50,000, among which a cash prize of € 3,000 for the winning team and € 1,500 and € 600 for the second stand out. and third place respectively.
The initiative, which has been underway since September 10, will remain in effect online until November 25, when the winning teams selected by a professional jury will be announced. Participation will be free and the submission of applications has been extended until November 5 through the official website of the contest: https://hackathonsalesforce.ecommerce-news.es/.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud & MuleSoft Challange is also supported by Accenture, Capgemini, Everis, ISDI, On4U, Omega CRM, OSF Digital, VASS and Viseo sponsors of the event and who will also contribute their vision and experience to the participating teams. We are also joined by brands such as Cash Converters, Silbon, Iskaypet, Tradeinn or El Ganso, which together with the partners and the organization are generating content on specific topics that serve as ‘mentoring’ for the Hackathon teams to implement and develop their ideas. Topics such as Omnichannel, Black Friday, sustainability, Headless, Multicloud, Stock Control, Subscriptions, Digital Products, among others, will be the protagonists in said content.
First phase
Participants may form teams of a maximum of four people. Each group will be able to participate in live sessions and listen to podcasts, which will guide them to develop innovative ideas. The objective will be enrich the shopping experience of consumers. And for this, each team must present a project with the best online or omnichannel shopping experience for consumers based on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Commerce Cloud Developer Center tools. Optionally, you can simulate the use of any other Salesforce solution in the prototype.
All teams will receive training on the Salesforce ecosystem through the Salesforce Trailhead platform. To do this, they will have mentors that will accompany them both in the process of creation and development and in the introduction to the world of innovation, thanks to training pills provided throughout the hackathon.
Environmental commitment and Awards Ceremony
Social networks will also play an important role since the teams will have to share their experiences and progress with two objectives: to obtain prizes that the organization will put into play, as well as to generate an impact on the networks that, if achieved, will involve the commitment of allocate € 2,000 to planting trees in support of the environment.
During the final phase, a jury of experts composed of the organization, as well as Salesforce partners and clients, will analyze the projects presented and will select the three teams that will go to the final. The winner will be announced during an awards ceremony to be held on November 25 in Madrid, the eve of the most important shopping day for the digital channel: Black Friday.
Within the organization of the Hackathon and together with Salesforce and MuleSoft will be Ecommerce News, a communication medium specialized in electronic commerce.
