The Google Pixel 6 series will be out in less than a week, and while we seem to know almost everything about them, the latest leak suggests a pretty impressive update policy.
We heard rumors that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will receive five years of updates, but it wasn’t clear whether this meant OS updates or security patches.
Now we could get a better idea of what this means according to the well-known leaker snoopy, who said we should wait four years of OS updates and five years of security updates.

While five years of OS updates is impressive, four years isn’t bad, especially for Android. Since Pixel 6 is supposed to run Android 12 at launch, that would mean it would be upgraded to Android 16.
Manufacturers like Samsung and Xiaomi promise just four years of security updates, and some devices receive three operating system updates.
