An Afghan girl and her 18-year-old cousin, who came to Pakistan from the Afghan province of Nangarhar for treatment through an illegal mountain route, slipped and died on the mountain.
According to Afghan media, the relatives of the deceased 11-year-old girl and 18-year-old youth say that both of them tried hard to cross the Torkham border to Pakistan but if they did not get permission, they took illegal route for this purpose. Û”
Both entered Pakistan from Kurram Agency but fell from a mountain and died on the way. The deceased was cremated in Agency.
“My son and niece were sick for two months. We tried hard to get through Torkham or Spin Boldak but could not succeed,” said Pir Gul Sharifi, the father of the deceased.
It should be noted that the Taliban had closed the Torkham and Chaman border last week saying that proper arrangements had not been made by Pakistan there. The Pakistani government has repeatedly demanded the reopening of the Spin Boldak and Torkham corridors.
