The ‘From Santurce to Bilbao’ race awaits some 2,500 athletes on Sunday

The XXXIV International Race From Santurce to Bilbao hopes to bring together some 2,500 athletes next Sunday in a traditional 14-kilometre road test of a markedly popular nature, but also open to elite athletes. The runners will start at 11:00 a.m. at the Mikel Trueba de Santurtzi sports center and the fastest will arrive less than an hour after the finish line in Plaza Pío Baroja after a route along the Left Bank of the Nervión river in which they will cross Portugalete, Sestao and Barakaldo.

The economic prizes for the first three classified, both in the male and female categories, will be 800, 700 and 400 euros. In addition, 250 euros are earmarked for the best Basque athletes, 180 for wheelchair winners and 150 for winners in the veteran category.
