The former First Minister of Scotland was arrested

Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into SNP funding.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 52-year-old woman was detained on Sunday and is being questioned by police.

Police have detained Nicola Sturgeon in connection with the misuse of £600,000 in donations from the Scottish National Party.

Nicola Sturgeon has been arrested by police to investigate allegations of financial mismanagement by the Scottish National Party.

Nicola Sturgeon resigned as First Minister of Scotland and SNP leader in the first week of April. Earlier, two persons were arrested in Operation Branch Farm.

He is accused of misappropriating more than £600,000 in party donations to the independence campaign.
