India suffered a defeat in the first match of the Test series against England. Team India lost the Hyderabad Test by 28 runs. Shubman Gill was a flop in this match. He came to bat at third in both innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal opened for India with Rohit Sharma. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has given suggestions to Team India in this regard. Jaffer believes Rohit should bat at number 3.
Jafar shared a post on X on Monday. In it, he made suggestions about Team India’s batting order. Jaffer wrote: “Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma can open.” My suggestion is that Rohit should bat at number three in the second Test. It is not right for Shubman to wait for his shot. It would be better if they opened up. Rohit plays spin well. Therefore he should bat at number 3.
What is noteworthy is that Shubhman has opened for Team India on many occasions and has also performed well. Shubman was eliminated after scoring 23 runs in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test. He was out with zero in the second inning. He finished at number 3 in both innings. Initially, Yashasvi had scored 80 runs in the first innings. While Rohit had scored 24 runs in the first innings. Rohit had scored 39 runs in the second innings. While Yashasvi was eliminated after 15 runs.
In my opinion, Gill and Jaiswal should open and bat Rohit at number 3 in the second Test. Waiting for his turn won’t help Shubman, it’s better if he opens the inn. Rohit plays spin really well, so batting at number 3 shouldn’t worry him too much. #INDvENG
