The Cincinnati Bengals (2-2) they took away the undefeated Miami Dolphins (3-1) by defeating them 27-15 in the Thursday Night Football of Week 4 due to multiple factors including opposing kicker errors and deep passes Joe Burrow hit with his wide receivers.

Tagovailoa’s lesion

The Dolphins had to play without Tua Tagovailoa (8/14, 110 yards) starting midway through the second quarter. The Miami QB was sacked by Josh Tupou and left the field due to head and neck injuries.

Valuable long passes

The bombings of the quarterbacks were not lacking in Thursday Night Football. Burrow (20/31, 287 yards and 2 TD) connected on 59-yard shots with Tee Higgins that served to put six points on the scoreboard and another 43-yarder with Tyler Boyd. On the final drive, Ja’Marr Chase had a 36-yard reception that later ended in another TD.

Low value long passes

For their part, the Dolphins had big receptions without affecting the score in a big way. Tyreek Hill caught a 64-yard pass, but Miami had only three points on a 20-yard FG. According to the NFL’s Next Gen Stats, the ball flew for 61.4 yards.

kicks

Jason Sanders, kicker for the Dolphins, missed a 52-yard field goal because J Gunter blocked the ball. An offensive series later, the specialist missed the extra point after Chase Edmonds’ touchdown.

interceptions

The Bengals’ defense, especially safety Vonn Bell generated two steals by intercepting both Tagovailoa and Bridgewater. The final delivery gave Burrow seven points thanks to Burrow’s pass to tight end Hayden Hurst.
