ZTE is unique in using 35mm equivalent lenses in the main cameras of some of its flagships, like the Nubia Z50S Pro and the Axon 40 Ultra before it.

Now the company seems ready to take the next step with an offer a 35mm camera with a 1-inch sensor.

Digital Chat Station shared an image of a prototype of Nubia’s flagship phone alongside the current Nubia Z50S Pro. This illustrates how much larger the lens and resulting camera module needs to be to accommodate a 1-inch sensor compared to the current 1/1-inch sensor. 1.49-inch unit on the Z50S Pro.

The source goes on to say that the phone in the picture uses the Sony IMX989 sensor and that Nubia will launch the phone after optimizing the volume.

Aside from the huge camera island, the two phones look identical down to button placement. So it could be that we are dealing with a Nubia Z50S Ultra.
