Florida: While Saudi women are advancing rapidly in all other fields, they are also achieving success in the field of education at home and abroad.
In this regard, a Saudi student Sharuq Qanbu has become the first Saudi woman in the field of tourism by having a double degree in Tourism Management and Restaurant Management from the University of Florida.
Speaking to the Saudi Channel, Sharuq Qanbu said, “I have two degrees from the University of Florida at the same time. There was great interest in the tourism sector. The dream was to master the largest sector in the world. It was great when the dream came true.
“The experience of working day and night for a double graduation has taught me a lot,” said Qarboo. It started in 2015 when she was doing an information technology course. After the first term, she moved on to Tourism Management and Restaurant Management.
“I was scared when I left information technology and started teaching tourism,” said Qanboo.
I was afraid that the people who were helping me and my family, who were silent about my desire, might get angry. I was the only student in Saudi Arabia to pursue a career in tourism. Now, more than fifty Saudi students have entered the field.
Sharuq Qanbu said that the eyes of the officials of the University of Florida were fixed on Saudi Arabia. That was a strange time. Saudi Arabia was campaigning for the promotion of tourism. Some people were speaking negatively against the state in this regard.
They were trying to give the impression of contradiction between the country and tourism but now the situation has changed. The new scenario of the country is proving that there is a lot in terms of tourism.
