The first Portuguese video game about World War I in the Azores is coming

Named after Laura, it has the Azores archipelago as a backdrop and focuses on the First World War.

Still in development, the Portuguese video game is a single-player top-down 3D for PC, but may also have versions for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Portuguese educational entertainment game with Point & Click operation

Laura point and click

According to the Portuguese production company PolyWeld, the video game Laura is an educational entertainment title that follows 7-year-old Laura through Monte Brasil. The mode of operation is Point & Click and therefore the player collects plants of the typical flora of the Azores, in addition to building herbariums.

This is the first Portuguese game to focus on the theme of the Great War and how that event left its mark on Portugal and the ties the country had with Germany and the United States of America at the time.

Laura collectible

The structure of the title also includes the collectible mode and, in that sense, you will have to collect various items, such as bay leaves from the laurel forests of the Azores islands, to complete missions.

The Portuguese production company is moving forward despite the fact that it is developing the video game as a communication vehicle. Everything for players to feel transported by the culture and unique environments of Terceira Island.

Also the name of the game and the protagonist Laura, has Azorean inspiration taken precisely from the laurel forests, present in the archipelago.
